KA Kitesurfing Adventure Sports was established in 2009 and since starting have taught hundreds of satisfied students. Our aim is to teach in a safe, well structured and fun environment ensuring that everyone enjoys the chosen activity and fulfils their potential. We now see many of our students on the beach kitesurfing, SUPing and Coasteering independently and are very proud to have introduced them to the activities we are so passionate about.

IMG_0782 In January 2016 KA were awarded an AALA licence allowing us to host groups of children independent from parents to Kitesurf, Stand Up Paddle board and Coasteer.

KA Kitesurfing Adventure Sports has 3rd party independent full employers insurance with all instructors holding current first aid certificates and RYA level 2-power boat qualifications. Kevin also holds a beach lifeguard and ISAF sea survival qualification.


Kev Anderson

KA Kitesurfing’s driving force is Kev Anderson, a BKSA (British Kite Surfing Association) qualified senior instructor, BSUPA (British Stand Up Paddle Association) qualified instructor and British coasteering federation qualified guide.

Kev has always had a passion for extreme sports, becoming a keen Sailor, windsurfer, paraglider, skier and snowboarder combined with a love of the Northumberland coastline.

Team KA offer bespoke water based adventures along the Northumberland coastline and Kev prides himself on his ability to provide top quality activities to suit all levels and capabilities.


Gina started working with KA at the start of 2015. She is a qualified kitesurfing instructor and a very experienced and capable paddle boarder and coasteerer.

A fully committed sports woman, always reaching a top level at whatever sport she turns her hand too.


Jonny Anderson

Kev’s son Jonny has been kitesurfing since 2009 when he was just 9 years old. Now 7 years later he is a qualified kitesurfing instructor whist being a keen kitesurfer, surfer and stand up paddle boarder. In his spare time Jonny gets involved with all of the activities we do at KA, helping out with not only kitesurfing lessons but stand up paddle boarding and coasteering sessions between studying for his A-Levels.


Georgie is a GP who loves paddle boarding , surf , coasteering and beach fitness . She is currently rated UK ladies number 3 at sup surfing after competing in the BSUPA nationals 2015 . She has RLSS lifegaurding qualification , and as she has 3 kids she knows how much fun can be had getting all ages on the water !


Sally started kitesurfing lessons with KA back in April 2014 and has quickly progressed into a very competant kitesurfer. She has kitesurfed in Tarifa, Dahkla Morocco, Tiree, Portugal and Barbados and has gained a lot of kitesurfing experience all around the world. Always full of fun and enthusiasm Sally has endless banter particularly around her camper van with a coffee or a beer.

Sally is actively involved with Surfers Against Sewage and regularly organises local beach cleans.

A valued member of the KA team she is raring to go for the 2016 season.


Anna is a one of the most enthusiastic people you will meet. A qualified paddle board instructor and highly qualified personal trainer she will be a part of Team KA starting spring 2016.

Always smiling and full of fun she is a true professional and ready to bring on the 2016 season.

Andrew McMillan – Team KA sponsored Airush rider

Andrew has been a KA team rider since 2014. A super keen kitesurfer who is progressing quickly with his freestyle riding.

Andrew is now competing in the BKC freestyle kitesurfing events all around the country and finished a commendable 3rd in 2015 in the amateur class.

Always on the beach when the wind is good and available for any help and advice.

Will and Jake

Will and jake both started as Team KA assistants at the beginning of 2015. They were involved in almost all of our activities during their school holiday periods and have become valued members of the KA team.

Will has become a great little kitesurfer and Jake (started later) is hot on his heals. They both have a good understanding of the KA operations and we all look forward to watching them develop further in 2016.

Bruce the KA dog.

Bruce is loved by all who meet him. A dog with a permanent wagging tail he has the best life a dog can have.

The ultimate coasteering dog who never misses a session, he swims endlessly along side the paddle boards and is always there if you throw a stick or stone.


Pete took up kitesurfing many years ago after a long career in windsurfing, and since he started, has never looked back!

He has spent the last few years competing in the freestyle events of BKC kitesurfing championships, and loves to help students gain a foothold in a sport which he is very passionate about.

Pete is one of the top master kitesurfer in the country, finishing 2nd the BKC nationals 2015.

He is always first on the water and last off, super keen on his own progression but always there to help, support and advise others.



Edd started last year and has been a great addition to the KA Kitesurfing team. He learned to kitesurf out in Australia after he finished University and then qualified as a kitesurfing instructor at the start of 2012. Edd is always happy to help and his kitesurfing knowledge is first class.

Matt Pearce


Matt has been working on and off for KAKitesurfing for the last couple of years. He qualified as an instructor back in 2010 and then did a season teaching and running a school out in Tarrifa Spain.

He is a top quality kitesurfer sponsored by liquid force and is perfect to progress your turns, jumps and tricks with 1 to 1 instruction

He lives locally in Newton and is always on hand to help even at short notice.



Jen started kitesurfing in summer 2010 after she had lessons with KA Kitesurfing and was instructed by Kev. One year later she became a BKSA qualified kitesurfing instructor and BSUPA qualified Stand Up Paddleboarding instructor.

Jen’s love of sport is also reflected in her academic life as she is soon to complete a BSc Hons in Applied Sport & Exercise Science.

Jen is keen to help more people into kitesurfing and SUPing and hopes to achieve greater female participation as each sport continues to grow.
