We are officialy up and running from Sunday 17th may. We plan a slow and steady start, operating mainly from just out side Wylam on the Ovingham road. We will be offering Stand Up Paddle Individual 1 to 1 sessions and same family group sessions. Kitesurfing will be happening at the beach and our Surf and Coasteering will be starting soon.
Please ensure that within the last 14 days
- You have not been infected or shown symptoms of Covid-19
- No one in your household has been infected or shown Symptoms of Covid-19
- No one in your household is in the vulnerable catagories as defined in the current UK Government advice.
Booking procedures & arrival
- Face masks can be worn by our staff on land if requested.
- Please provide sizes so we can have your clean equipment ready on arrival. (bring your own foot wear. Trainers are best.)
- If showing symptoms or temperature, do not attend lesson – applicable to both student and instructors.
- Payments to be made in advance or via contactless card machine. (no cash)
- Wash hands / use hand sanitizer on arrival (Please bring your own hand wash)
- Registration forms to be sent electronically before hand. ( these can be down loaded from the link below)
- Bring own wet suit and equipment where possible.
During lesson / session procedures
- Dont share equipment, such as paddles, pumps, boards etc.
- Maintain 2m distance between you, your instructor and other people.
- Our instructors always carry throw lines and tow lines which will avoid contact if assistance is required.
- Have fun, be safe and lead by example.
ADULT / BSUPA Learn to SUP course – 2 hours
This Learn to Stand Up Paddle Surf Course is a beginner's complete introduction to the sport. We are passionate about teaching SUP and have recently become a BSUPA recognised school.
We teach beginners all the basics of how to SUP:
- Carrying the Equipment
- How to Hold the Paddle
- Stance on the Board
- How to Fall
- Flat Water Paddling
- Different Types of Turn
- Planning a Distance Route
- Changing Stance to Catch a Wave
- Safety
On completing this course, you will receive a BSUPA certificate. This certificate is used across the UK by all BSUPA schools.
As waves tend to be a hindrance in initial stages of stand up paddle surfing, most of the tuition takes place on the superb, flat-water that can be found around the Northumberland coast line.
KA Kitesurfing have a fleet of 7 stand up paddle boards and paddles that are ideal for a beginner’s introduction to the sport.
We provide you with everything you need to participate, including a high-quality, single lined glued and blind-stitched wetsuit.
